A BT Source has revealed to us that Sky are currently operating a pilot phase of New Line Providing.

According to this reliable source Sky are hoping to release this new addition to their product portfolio within the upcoming months.

What will this mean?

This will mean that Sky will become a Telecoms provider thanks to Ofcom's ruling that BT are no longer allowed to have the monopoly on Telecommunications within the UK.

Sky will be able to set up a brand new phone line for a customer at a charge of £124.99, the line will be installed by a BT Openreach Engineer but maintained by Sky.

Users will enter into a 12 month line rental contract with Sky but line rental will work out £1 month cheaper than BT's current offerings.

I think it is Great that Sky will be able to offer it's own telephony service, as I really do Not like BT, what with the ongoing problems I have had with them, too right that they No longer can have the monopoly of Communications, they just want to be greddy, about time someone took it away from them!
Good on you Sky!
