Sky Broadband and PS3 DNS errors
This tutorial will show you how to change the DNS settings in your Sony PS3 if you are getting DNS errors
Over the last few months, there have been more and more posts about using a Sony PS3 on Sky Broadband, and problems using Sky's DNS service. Although it is impossible to point the finger at Sony, it would appear to happen after updates received by the PS3 from Sony.
First step is to try putting OpenDNS servers into it instead of the default Sky ones and you may find that resolves your issues. I would think you would have to use 'expert mode' or such like, instead of the 'easy' mode. The servers to use are 220.127.116.11 and 18.104.22.168. It would also probably be better if you also give the PS3 a static address, something like 192.168.0.254 this will keep it well clear of other addresses and avoid conflicts.
We will add further information to this to help you further in the future. In the meantime, if you are having errors and wish to ask others, please use this thread. Sony PS3 DNS error on Sky Broadband.
