Have you tried a windows update to get any driver updates, do custom, and then select hardware, optional.

If there are no updates right click on My Computer, select Properties, go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager. Hit the + on Network adapters, find your ethernet adapter and right click on it then click Uninstall. Reboot your computer and it should automatically detect new hardware and install it.

Even if Windows Update finds a new driver and it still does not work try the above. There are a few other things to try, but try them first
