      Help with basic network question

Sorry about this, but I'm completely new to all things 'network'.

I've set up my Sky Router with ethernet cable connected direct to main PC. I've now got the Netgear WG111T USB adapter connected to another PC downstairs and managed to get the Internet sharing no problem. Here's the killer question then:

Can I now share files with each PC, or can I only do that with another USB adapter fitted in the main PC?

Like I say, this is a completely new area for me, so any pointers would be most welcome!

      Thanks.

You should be all set hardware wise.

Make sure both PCs have the same workgroup name set.
Make sure the person connecting into a PC has an account on the one they're connecting to.

With normal sharing, right click a folder and select sharing to enable it.
In the XP simple sharing mode it's different but someone else will have to explain because I never use that.

Alternatively you can download this web server Geoff's Web Server
and browse the hard drives as if they were web sites.

Re: Help with basic network question

Many thanks. I was just about tearing my hair out last night as I just couldn't get them to talk. In the end I realised it was Zone Alarm that was causing the problems, so I'm now just using the XP firewall, and all is fine.

Now, all I need to do is get this pesky printer to share.....

      Thanks for your help
