      Hi Ibrahim,

You might get asked to post your router stats so people can offer some advice.

      Go to
      http://192.168.0.1
      Username: admin
      Password: sky

Scroll down the centre of page you see first and click 'Show Statistics'. You can then post your router stats.

To get a general understanding of the stats, this is a helpful page: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/speed...explained.html

I'm on Connect (a lesser package than yourself) and my Downstream Connection Speed is 8128kbps. Your Downstream Connection Speed is 6622kbps, so I think it's irrelevant whether you're attached via cable or wirelessly since I believe that's the theoretical maximum speed you can hope to achieve at this time. Why you only have 6622kbps speed is something others may be able to talk about. I'm sure more experienced users than me will offer advice and suggestions tomorrow so hang in there.

Re: Not getting perfect Speed & Router Disconnecting Help plz

Going wireless will often not give you the full potential of your connection, so it is always best to be wired up to the router if possible.

The sky service is an up to 16mb connection. From your stats you should be able to achieve somewhere in the region of 14000kbps instead of 6622kbps.

Is your router connected to your master phone socket?

Yes, using an extension cable does affect the speed and I would guess that the extension cable is exactly the reason why your router is only able to get 6622kbps. You should have your router plugged in to your master phone socket in your home, otherwise you will continue with your current speed.

Did you plug the router in at your master phone socket and, if you did, what were the router stats?
