Connecting through Wirless Broadband with Belkin 802.9kbps WIFI Card

I am having trouble connecting wirlless through sky digital broadband.

When the main computer is turned off with the NETGEAR modem left on the internet lights up green and so does the wifi logo.

But it keeps disconnecting me every 5 - 10 mintues, I am using a laptop with a Belkin 802.9kbps wifi card hooked in the laptop.

I have tried every solution I can think off. The question is shouldn't you be able to get a stable connention even if the main computer which NETGEAR runs from is turned off?????.. because the internet is running through digitaly??

      Thanks

      Lee

      Welcome to the site Lee

Have you tried to change the various Channels and Modes in the router also it could also be the UPnP bug giving you a headache as well so try disabling that.

      Hi Wheelie

Thanks for your reply.. I have tried on the main computer changing the channels of the modem from 1 - 13 but still no joy....

Could you tell me how to disable the UPnP thanks

      Lee

Edit: I have found the page on how to turn off the UpnP thanks...

I will give that a shot and see if it helps in anyway....

      :-D

Does it have to be the main computer you change it on, or can I change it directly from my laptop and restart it that way thanks..

Always better to do via the main PC and Ethernet but it can be done via wireless if you like.
