Slow Wireless Speeds? Read this!

Got a 2nd pc which i want to locate in a spare room, for some quiet overnight downloading. Bought a KCORP LIFESTYLE 54MBPS WIRELESS "PCI" CARD to do the job. Just tested it very near the sky router (no more than 30cm's apart), which gives an 'excellent' full bars signal (as expected), BUT the difference in download speed between ethernet and wireless, is half the speed on wireless. I want to max out my (albiet capped) connection with the wireless signal, same as i can do wired (850k/s), so would a 108mbps wireless card mostl likely achieve this, or would i be wasting my money, same as i've just done with the 54g?.

cheers

joe

Re: 54g wireless pci card in 2nd pc - wrong choice?

you are a star BB_user - it worked for me too - getting the same as through the cable now

THis program should be bundled with all wireless cards, and a nice fat royalty paid to the developer imo.

hi i tried this tweak program and i thing i'm surfing slower!!
how do i revert back to my previous settings before the tweak. i used only the automated apply buttons but set my download speed to 16000 as i believe that is what sky max advertise??
also, if i 've applied this tweak on 1 computer in my wireless network will it have affected the other computers that connect wirelessly??
many thanks.
