HELP PLS - Belkin G Notebook card +

      Hi all..

I have been using my sky broadband now for about a month, so far all good - cheap as chips!

However, on my laptop I am using a belkin g+ notebook card, which can carry upto 125mbps. The problem is that it only ever seems to be carry 54mbps regardless of the distance from router!

Is there a setting I need to change to allow maxium speed?

Something that springs to mind is that there are several different methods of implementing speeds above 56Mb. they aren't usually compatible with each other so it could be that your card and router are speaking a different language. If so, they'll fall back to the 56Mb standard.

Yeh alot of the 125mb technologies are speed 'Boosters' and need to have the same hardware both ends. I know of a Linksys one that does.

I'd be really suprised if the Netgears 108 actually worked at 108 even with another Netgear 108 wireless card *has little faith in the Sky router*

It does work - works with my intel mac both in OS and XP.
It also does work with a Belkin - but it needs the pre-n card.
