As far as i am aware sky are for home use only and isn't really recommended to be used for business's. BT would be more for business's as they offer a business broadband. Don't quote me on that though cause i ain't 100% sure.

Re: VPN access to corporate network over Sky

Hi. I moved from Prodigynet to Sky last week. Seems that VPN working is hit and miss on Sky. My work laptop uses Check Point VPN-1 Secure Client which worked fine through Prodigy but won't play on Sky. I am using the same D-Link router with untouched (well apart from the username and password oviously )settings and it works fine for general internet use. Anyone else use Check Point and got it working with Sky? Any tips or suggestions for how I might try and establish connection with work very welcome. TIA

      Graeme

Edited: To say that it looks like it was something the IT folk had SMS'd across to the laptop as this evening it is working fine!!All very odd.

Re: VPN access to corporate network over Sky

Just set up my sky BB and wireless router on friday, corporate VPN used all day on saturday without any problems. no reconfiguring of router needed, was previously with BT and frankly it was pathetic. could barley connect for more than 30 seconds at a time... grrr.. chill, breathe, breathe....

Sorry just the mention of BT gets me going... anyway my VPN is perfect now.
I am also using IPSEC on UDP port somewhere in the 80000 range. so this maybe a factor.

see How to enable a Cisco IPSec VPN client to connect to a Cisco VPN concentrator through ISA Server 2000 this may shed some light...
hope you get it working soon.
