Netgear WG111T freezing computer under P2P problem.

      Hi there,

I have said Netgear WG111T USB adapter connecting to the Sky branded DG834GT router. I have a great 80% connection at 108Mbs.

However under P2P use the compter freezes up and has to be reset at random points, sometimes 30 mins other times hours. I use the azureus p2p client and currently only downloading one item at a time with maximum 50 connections.

My PC specs are as follows :-

      DFI NF4 Ultra-D, A64 X2 4200+, 2Gb OCZ Platinum PC4000EB, Connect 3D X1800XT 256Mb, 320Gb Seagate 7200.10 SATAII, NEC ND4550A DVD burner and a OCZ Modstream 520W PSU.

      Any ideas what's causing this?

      Thanks in advance

      Paul

Could be tricky mate as PC is all set up upstairs and the router is basically in the kitchen (where the master socket is).

But with a wired connection through my old D Link router and Pipex it was 100% fine, so I'm putting the problem down to the USB dongle.

The Netgear utility is known to be "buggy". Try uninstalling it and use Windoze to configure. Also, try setting wireless mode in router to auto 108 and change wireless channel.

Ah ok will try the Netgear utility removal. Router is set to auto 108 and channel 6 already (well as you know it has to be on 6 for 108 operation)

Well got a BSOD driver error on the WG111T driver, so it's definately the Netgear wireless dongle thats the problem.

I've removed the Netgear util and using the windows connection to see if that helps.

Is there a wireless dongle non Netgear that will work at 108Mbs with the Sky router?
