      Cannot connect go internet

I have a Sony DVD player with built in modem that I use to access Amazon, Netflix etc. For years it has been working fine but now I am getting a message that although there is a good connection to the wifi there is no internet connectivity. Have the setup rules changed. Can anyone help with the correct configuration?

      Re: Cannot connect go internet

I doubt if you mean it has a built-in Modem, but do suspect that you meant Ethernet port.

Could I ask you to try connecting the DVD Player via the Ethernet port to see if that helps?

After that can you visit the Sony site to see if there is a firmware update for the DVD Player? If there is can you download and install it please.

I am wondering what the cause might be. Perhaps it's attempting to contact a specific server run by Sony. If it doesn't see it then perhaps it considers it's not connected to the Internet. If the server has changed, that could explain why it thinks its off-line. Hopefully Sony will have addressed that in an update.

Another potential issue is IPv6 support. Again I would expect this to be addressed by an update, but you can also check by looking at the 'Connected Devices' in your router's Maintenance page.

What Sony DVD player is that?
You may just need to go through the wireless setup again from the DVD/bluray menus.
