Sky Wireless Booster and other modem/routers

      Hi all,

This may be in the wrong section. Apologies if it is.

I received my Sky Wireless Booster the other day after spotting the offer a few weeks ago. I works just fine in my house with the Sky supplied kit but does anyone know of any reason why it wouldn't work with other hardware?

To be honest I don't have any wireless issues in my house and sent off for the booster because it was free. However, my parents have coverage problems at their house and I wondered if the booster could be used with their Virgin Super Hub.

      Anyone?

It should work with any router. It is simple enough if the Super Hub has a WPS, just set it up and press the 2 buttons. If it doesn't have a WPS button, plug it into the router using the ethernet cable supplied. Go to the router settings and look up the Attached Devices. Find the address for the booster and copy and paste it into the address bar. Password is sky, you can now enter the wifi password manually.

If you have set it up on your network, reset it by pushing a pin in the hole on the rear and holding till the lights flash.

Didn't know it was this easy.

Sent a guy a hub today instead of working through it as he had an old Netgear router.

Don't know how he got the booster without a hub though?

Here is a bit more for anyone who may want to set the booster up with a non Sky router.
This shows the booster selected in the Attached Devices.

Put address into browser bar press enter.

Note that I am choosing Manual and selecting my second (Dlink) router. Pressing Connect brings up this page.
