      Wireless Booster instability

I got my wireless booster and set it up using WPS button. All fine & tickety boo, getting a strong signal in my wifi cold spot. When I connect in the sitting room, which was fine before the booster was installed, the internet connection drops off every so often. It still shows a connection to the network, but shows no internet. If I unplug the booster from the mains the internet access comes back.
I should add, I'm getting strong white led's on the hub and booster.

I'm finding it a bit annoying more than anything else. Do I go back to a cold spot in the bedroom or put up with the t'interwebs dropping off? Or am I doing something wrong? (more likely)

      Re: Wireless Booster instability

I concur, my wireless booster creates more connection problems than it solves. Similar symptoms with Sky SR router and my TP-Link N600, I just don't bother with mine now, sticking with TP-Link for now untill I can afford an AC router of some kind.

      Re: Wireless Booster instability

It's a real shame because if I'm reading in bed and want to download a new book or look something up, I need to get out of bed to do so. Not nice on cold nights.

I agree with this and I find it very annoying!!!
I have installed two of these (own & father in law) and both causing more trouble than it is worth, with connection dropping and very slow speed.. If it continues I will unplug and put in bin

Same here, I got the booster and its upstairs. I get full signal for about 10mins then signal drops. I have to either unplug the booster and then reset the router downstairs. I just dont use it now until its sorted. Anyone any ideas ehy this would be like this?

I stopped using mine too (after about a day of use), as it seemed to be having a detrimental effect on overall performance of the wireless network. All returned to normal after it was switched off and back in its box!

      Re: Wireless Booster instability

My charger fell apart on mine the other day and no longer works (not that it'll bother me at all, its useless).
Seems build quality isnt high either.

No much going for the thing really. Strange decision by Sky. I bet 80% of the ones sent out by Sky are not plugged in anymore.

      Re: Wireless Booster instability

I think wireless extenders in general are not really much good, the Sky one in particular. If you really need one, this comes well recommended and has the advantage of having 2 ethernet ports and no PSU to break or loose.
