      Re: Wifi connection dropping down

I would suggest that you check through the PC's WiFi connection.

How many bars do you get on the connection? What is the actual connection speed when you have it? Can you more the WiFi aerial?

It might be that you will need to change the position of the PC in order to get a better signal or perhaps consider upgrading the router to a WiFi n router. The one in your profile is a WiFi g router. The new Sky Hub SR101 has a far better signal strength.

      Re: Wifi connection dropping down

Ethernet cable would be the better choice. If your electrical wiring is in good order, then HomePlugs are a god choice due to their flexibility. Aim for either 200mbps or 500mbps versions. Any slower and you will have problems IMHO.

However you may wish to consider changing your router to a WiFi N router. The Sagem 2504 is a WiFi g router. Sky's Sagem 2504N and Sky Hub SR101 both work at up to 144mbps and the signals are far better than the old Sagem 2504.

      Re: Wifi connection dropping down

      They certainly should be fine.

Provided that you get them, give them a good testing to check the performance. Wiring and other issues specific to your setup may affect the performance.

When the Sky Hub was first released they said that it would be 39 initially, rising to 69 now. Personally I think that Sky should encourage people to stay with them by offering a free replacement router every so often. It has been suggested by others and is effectively what the mobile phone providers do. Sure they hide the costs of their phones in the packages, but it is a viable option.
