      Yep I'll try ringing Sky again, hopefully I'll get someone who can do something this time. Other PCs in the house get the same lousy speed, wife's runs Win 7, mine runs Linux Mint, Sons can't play games on their devices either.

      I rang Sky tonight and spoke to a very helpful agent, Heather (in Belfast) who was absolutely wonderful. She did all sorts of tests, checked my line, and could even see that I had started using my old router ( Netgear DG 834GT) again in an effort to stop the speed dropping further. She has forwarded the details to the tier 3 techs and they should be contacting me within 48 hours.
      If anyone else gets Heather, she is great, full of information, chatty, bright, and really knows her stuff.

      Think I spoke too soon!

      The speed is still awful, 4 days later, so obviously Sky Tech have forgotten me !

      Speedtest results aren't really useful to properly compare daily figures. However it looks like DLM is working to correct your line speed if it is going up.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      No problem.

      You need to look at the router stats though, not the speedtest results.
