      Question Netgear WNCE2001

I have given up trying to change the DNS settings on my sky router, it is the latest silver model I have.
i read that I can use the Netgear WNCE2001 with original router and change settings on that one to use.
i want to be able to get Netflix USA instead of the uk version and have asked here many times about it but relize I cannot with the sky router .
the netflix box is wireless and I have to tell it what router to connect to and that is all. Can I either use the Netgear WNCE2001 instead of the original sky router or is it possible to use both at same time but change DNS on the net gear one and if so, how do I do it?
      Many thanks

      Are you on MER?

If not send me the config file and I will amend it for you, 100% success so far that I have edited.

      Hi
      unfortunately I am on MER.
i know this might be a stupid question, but is the MER for the line or router?
because I still have the old router model before this one I could use instead if that ws the case...

MER is the connection that your router uses.

It looks like Skyare changing ADSL users from MER to PPPoA though, so at somepoint, I think it may work.

Why not try with the other router and see what happens?

      Re: Netgear WNCE2001

Hi,again. for,as long as I can remember, I have been trying to change the DNS setting so that I can get Netflix USA from my router instead of through my pc. I managed to get my old Netgear Sky modem going and it is not on MER like my new one.
it is PPPoA instead, would you be able to change my DNS settings if I sent you my back up file and I could install that from it?
i am tearing my hair out trying to get this as I have Netflix upstairs and downstairs and stuck with the same old rubbing from uk as I tried US version and it is more better.
i would forever be in your debt if you could do this for me.
      please help.
      all the best

I don't think this can be done with the newer Netgear (the black one) unless you flash to non-Sky firmware. If you have the older one,(white) then you can install James' CU firmware, which is still Sky's but has lots of options including changing the DNS servers.
