NETGEAR N300 DGND3300 not connecting using MER

      Hey guys,

I bought a Netgear N300 today & thought it would be straight forward to setup once I figured out how the extract the Password with the
LAN MAC Address from my Sagemcom. The N300 detects the SKY connection. I can see the up & downstream connection speeds but it fails to assign an IP address. Its almost like the password is wrong. I've re-extracted it several times & hand typed it in & cut/pasted it in. Still dead. I hear rumours I may be doomed because my Sky Router is conneting via MER (whatever that is). Is it possible to use MER & this router?

Open the Status page on your Sky router and check the Network Type, this will show whether you are on MER or not. Get that out of the way first.

The Netgear routers cannot use Sky MER properly and Netgear do not appear to be doing anything about it, Billion are the only manufacturer who has.

Thanks. It is MER. I now returned the router & decided to stick with the crappy SKy Sagemcom

You could raise a support issue with Netgear. They are aware of this and if more people were to contact them directly, then they might listen and issue a firmware fix for all their router.

Register your router first, then go to their section to raise a support ticket:
