      Re: Extend Wifi Range

You can perhaps appreciate why we always ask for the stats from the router. They tell us a great deal more.

Please do keep us informed with what happens with the faceplate and after the call to Sky to get the connection speed improved.

      Re: Extend Wifi Range

The router stats have obviously been useful.
Yes, I will get back to the forum after that has all been attended to.

      Re: Extend Wifi Range

I meant to say, I have an Android phone and already had WiFi Analyzer on it, which I do find really useful.

      Re: Extend Wifi Range

Wifi Analyzer is a nice little app. The equivalent for the PC is inSSIDer. We normally suggest this, but since you didn't have the WiFi adaptor on the PC it wasn't useful. However, when you get the WiFi adaptor, do use inSSIDer to help position the adaptor.

BTW: If you have ordered the Netgear WNDA3100v2 and have an issue when installing it with the latest drivers, let us know. Some people have needed to use an older driver which can be difficult to find. Also just install the driver for it, not the WiFi manager software. The Windows WiFi manager is far better IMHO.

      Re: Extend Wifi Range

With your advice I installed the Driver-only for Netgear N300 Wireless USB adapter WNA3100 and all went smoothly. I now have internet access, thank you.

Waiting for the faceplate despatched today, still to phone Sky.

      Re: Extend Wifi Range

Nice one. The WNA3100 is slightly different to what I have (WNDA3100v2), but the "ProSet" software supplied with both is just not required.

      Re: Extend Wifi Range

Have now phoned Sky Customer Service, they've made the change and she says speed is nearly 20 now.

Looking at the Stats from when I installed Router Lite to the desktop, you can see where the signal stopped as she changed it and the improvement in noise and speed.
      Thank you again.
