      Re: Maybe problem

      The figures above are your router stats, if they were not the same wireless or wired, I would be a little surprised.

      You need to do a speedtest to see if there is any difference.

      Re: Maybe problem

      Could you please direct me to a good speed test site, one that you yourself would use. Thanks

      Sorry jumped the gun there.

      Re: Maybe problem

      I included a link to our own speedtester, I always use that, and it records your results against your forum account.

      Re: Maybe problem

      Cabled = 3312 Kbps 280 Kbps
      Wireless = 3320 Kbps 281 Kbps

      So my wireless appears to be slightly better than cabled, upload speed has gone from nearly 900 kbps down to 280 cabled, and really is not good enough.

      Thanks for the Link

      The difference could be down to fluctuations on the download server.

      I would say both results are pretty much spot on tbh - which means that the wireless is not losing you any speed etc

      Where are you getting the 900 kbps figure from?

      Re: Maybe problem

      These were the figures i used to see in the "Show statistics" results of the Router/Modem, next to the "Connection speed", but for the last Month they have been down to less than half of that 900.

      Well as I see it, the first set of figures you have posted, you have a higher attenuation than mine.

      Your's is 55.5 and mine is 48 - This is the line length theoretically, and cannot be moved unless you move house so to speak.

      With an attenuation of 55.5 I would expect to receive;

      ADSL2+ Speed Test

      We estimate your line is capable of between 4mb to 5mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service. This ADSL2 Line Speed Calculator is a best guess only, as to the broadband speed that maybe possible on your telephone line. The checker provides results of up to 24mb with the data that is made available to us. This is purely for indication only and should not be classed as the Line Speed that you would receive on any ADSL or LLU product from another ISP.

      Your connection is just under 4meg and so is not that far out from the prediction.

      As for the 900 kbps upload, I would doubt vey much your line could be capable of sustaining that figure anyway.

      You could try the test socket and see if the stats from the first post improve?

      How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket - Sky User - The unofficial support forum for everything Sky!

      But the figures that you posted in the first post and then the speedtest results in post #5 are pretty much spot on to my untrained eye.

      Re: Maybe problem

      Speed test Test socket

      connected by wireless, 3480Kbps download, and upload = 418Kbps

      connected Cabled, 3496Kbps download, and upload = 508Kbps

      So there is a difference now its plugged into the test socket.
