      wireless connection

      I am trying to connect a old laptop wireless,I have read tutorial but am unsure because I am using an adaptor.Do I use the laptop MAC address or the adaptors MAC address:confused

      The only time that you would normally need to refer to the MAC address of a WiFi adaptor (built-in or external) would normally be if you have set up your router to restrict access to approved devices or if you wish to reserve the address for a specific IP address.

      In each case it will be the device that is connecting to the router that you need to reserve.

      What happens when you click the wireless icon in the Tray and select Search for Networks? A box should come up showing the routers in range, pick yours and click Connect. If you have security enabled, you will be asked for the pass key, put this in and click OK. That's it.
      Unless you are using a pre-XP OS use the Windows wireless manager, not the utility provided with the adapter some of these are not much good.
