Using 2nd Sky router to boost WiFi The Wifi in our 100 year old double bricked terraced house isn't the best thing in the world. So I made a gripe on the World Wide Internet Web and a random friend said to lan up a 2nd router and this will boost it.
I made a joke 'that I hope there is no fiddly settings' and proceeded to plug LAN it up. I returned to Twitter after hunting router and cable etc and LAN'ing it up to find the message
"There is, but I a fiddly setting person as it is my job" I responded but they seem to have Twitted off for tonight.
Does anyone know what/how I need to change on the 2nd router to get in working nicely?
Please bear in mind I am a layman in this.
Using Windows 7 if that helps at all.
Thank you

No problem. The document was designed for those with a simple level as well as the more technically minded.
As for WiFi covered, think of it like a light bulb. You first router illuminates one area of your home with a green bulb, this 2nd router will illuminate another part of your home with a red bulb.
How well they each illuminate your home as a whole I cannot comment as it does vary according to building materials.

It also depends on the 2nd router you are using, you don't mention what it is. I assume it is WiFi capable? How well they each illuminate your home as a whole I cannot comment as it does vary according to building materials.

They are both the same Netgear DG934G

I'd agree normally but I already have the cable running under the house so I am making good use of this
