Turn off Friendly Messages in IE to get an idea what the actual problem is Tools|>Internet Options>Advanced tab>Scroll down and untick 'Show friendly messages'.

Try using Firefox - Mozilla Firefox Web Browser | Free Download

or Chrome - Google Chrome - Get a fast new browser. For PC, Mac and Linux

Both are as good as if not better than IE.

Re: Connecting Notebook to Wireless Network

To be as brief as possible,
(1)I've got rid of any Cookies that might have been present
      (2) Tried to do the "Flush DNS" you advised, only to be told my OS can't do it.
      (3) On the LAN page there is no "Auto Detect" tab. I could only make sure there was no "proxy" server called up.

My current situation is:- Occasionly can get to Google main page, & then am able to search & find sub pages & get further through sub sub pages (If you know what I mean).

I'm just putting this up in case the slight improvement may give some clues to a more knowledgable person than I. That means just about everybody,I should think!!

Thanks to all for bearing with me so far,

      Regards,
      Pete

Re: Connecting Notebook to Wireless Network

      My current situation :-
I can get to Google using Ethernet connection altho' it takes 3-4 mins to find it.!
Attempts to dowload Firefox always "Times Out"
      CE 6.0 can't handle Chrome.
The Notebook microscopic Handbook only refers to Ethernet, WiFi & using a USB G3 dongle.for internet connection.
Q1. Is this why I can't make a straightforward Wireless Router connection?
Q2.Does anyone know which colour bin this sort of Notebook should go into?

      Despairingly,
      Pete

As I said earlier, this is a pretty useless bit of kit. Just to be sure, have you checked with another device that the wireless router is working OK?

Most councils have a special collection area where electronic items can be properly disposed of safely.

      Isitme,
Do you have a view on using a dongle?

Re: Connecting Notebook to Wireless Network

If you mean a USB wireless adapter, it may work, it would on a normal laptop or netbook, but I am not sure about one running CE. Do you have a friend with one you could borrow? I think if you do, you would also need to put the drivers on to a flash drive as you will not be able to use a CD Rom to access the drivers on a CD. To be honest, I don't even know if it is possible to put the drivers into the device.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I really know nothing about Windows CE.
