      Limited wireless connection

      Morning all

      First post so here goes......

Had Sky broadband for several years and all has been fine until I defragged my laptop, now I have "limited" broadband and no internet connection, I can see the router with good signal strength and have tried using cable connection to router but to no avail.

I Pad and other laptop work fine - so router appears to be working.

My thought is that during defrag some files have become corupt or deleted?

Can anyone give me some advice on how I can restore connection please.

      Many Thanks

      Re: Limited wireless connection

I don't know which O/S you are using and any solution will be O/S dependant. Please feel free to check out this article:

You receive a "Limited or no connectivity" message on a computer that is connected to the Internet by a DSL modem or by a cable modem after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

There should be something similar if you are using Vista of Windows 7.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Thanks for the reply Scubbie.

Strangely enough the connection appears to have fixed itself, no idea why! but thankfull.

Fingers crossed it stays that way!
