Ethernet Works but No Wireless connection

      Hello.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated after spending 3 fruitless hours on the phone to sky technical.

My old sky white BB box blew up and I have received a new black box. I can connect to the internet via the ethernet cable, but both my home and work laptops cannot access wirelessly.

Sky are saying both laptops are faulty which I cannot believe as my work one is fine on the wireless at work.

      Any help would be great.

      Thank you.

I assume that you have the Sagem 2304 router that have a huge problem regarding wi-fi connectivity.

Sky are playing it down but for somebody to say that your kit is broken when it is a known issue is pretty bad customer service.

Boot one of your laptops into Safe Mode with Networking and try to connect. If you are able to connect it shows that your laptops AV or firewall is stopping the connection.

Re: Ethernet Works but No Wireless connection

Thanks for you help. I have ..

      System Details
      Manufacturer Sagemcom
      Model Number F@ST2304
      Firmware Version 5.14.6a4N
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD030n.d23b

... so does not look good.

Apologies for asking but how would I boot into safe mode? Would like to give this a try as my norton firewall and windows firewall do conflict everynow and then.

Keep tapping the F8 key while the post screen is up, just before Windows starts. This should bring up a menu of options, of which Safe Mode with Networking is one.

If this does not work, click Start> Run and type msconfig click OK. Now click the Boot tab and select Safe boot and Network, then Apply>OK. To go back to normal mode, do the same and uncheck Safe boot and Network. Apply>OK.
