      laptop

      my wife got her laptop,3 years ago, but still cannot get the sagem wirless router, to accept it wireless, tried allsorts, sky tried to do it , but failed, the trouble is, the laptop, can see the sky network, but cannot acess it,keeps saying, wrong network key, but i have type in capitals and small, i connected a xbox360 no problem,

      Have you tried changing the network key to lowercase letters, instead of uppercase?

      I've had a similar issue on a couple of different laptops.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Also make sure your laptop is using WPA and not WEP. You may find that updating the wireless drivers fixes the problem.

      Disable the security on the router and try, this will confirm if it is a security issue.

      Is the laptop running Vista? Seems to be happening a lot, I've found.

      Try setting up the wireless connection manually. Go into network & sharing, manage wireless networks, and add it from scratch.

      Vista does have issues sometimes with WPA.

      Usually the change to WEP will fix it although it isn't a good encryption

      Only has 16.7million combinations that can be easily hacked
