Allowing Windows to search online for a driver is not 100%. You are far better going to the adapter or laptop manufacturers site and search there for an updated driver. Your problem may not be the driver, but it is better to rule that out before trying any further trouble shooting.

One thing you should check is that you are using the Windows wireless manager. The manager built into some wireless adapters is not too brilliant.

Incidentally if it's a dell wireless card you need to go to Broadcom's or Atheros's website to get the new driver.

Ok I have my wireless working, it may not be the best solution but it works. I was advised to use my earthnet cable to connect my old router to my new sky router. When selecting a wireless network, connect through the old router rather than the sky one, and it all seems to be working perfectly well so far. The other option was to but a usb wireless adapter.
Hope this might help someone else

Ok, thats new. I never heard of that one before. You must be connecting to the Sky router to access the network, surely?

Sounds like it's daisy chained to the Sky router for the Internet access

I'm guessing changing the channel might have had the same result lol.

      Re: Wireless Nightmare - HELPPPPP!!!!

Maybe not, about the biggest problem with Sky routers is the very poor wireless performance, especially when compared to modern N class routers.
