would i be wasting my money ?

If i bought a Netgear wireless USB adapter ? , i currently have a Belkin G+ MIMO adapter and i am only getting speeds of about 2Mb ...my router says i am receiving around about 9Mb , now thats a 7Mb loss in wireless signal , do you think it could be my Belkin adapter and is it worth buying a netgear one for compatability ?
      All help much appreciated....

Do you get a good speed if you move the wireless adapter nearer t othe router? Have you tried changing the wireless channel and switching modes?

Test the connection using a wire and post your router stats.

If you are using a Desktop then you would be better getting a PCI adapter, these are usually better than USB. Something like this - Netgear - WG311v3 54 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

In theory a Netgear adapter should perform better than the Belkin, but don't waste your money on the so called Super G type which are supposed to give you 108mbps. They seldom work properly and the extra speed is not required for internet access.
