Thinking of getting Belkin Powerline, is it worth buying?

I am thinking of getting a Belkin Powerline Network so that I can ditch using my router through the extension cable I am using. The mains socket is in the room next door and its using the same circuit. Anyone used one of these? Should I stay clear?? Please advise

I have no personal experience with Belkin, but Homeplug networking is highly recommended. The choice of gear is getting bigger every day. This is just a selection-

I use the max value one from Amazon and find them very good.

Re: Thinking of getting Belkin Powerline, is it worth buying?

i have been thinking of some sort of setup using home plugs for a while now but i have my pc and router downstairs and 3 kids need access upstairs, one laptop drops off frerquently eventhough its sits directly above router another laptop in same room connects well and a third in another room gets a fair reception as its diagonally in the opposite corner of the house

i have an old netgear wireless router can i just connect this to a home plug receiver upstairs to provide wireless for all rooms upstairs similar to piggy backing into the back of the skyrouter to increase signal

or would it be better to buy a wireless version of homeplug kit
