Can't assist without details, such as what router you are using? This would allow us to assist you.
Have you tried to connect the lap top with Ethernet cable to see if it connects?
It would also help if you post your router stats too.
What OS are you running ? XP ? Vista? or other?
Have you tried a Power cycle on the router? being as your laptops been connected for a year?

Please reset your router by button at the rear, or just unplug the power cable at the rear of the router. Give it 5 mins then plug back in again.
      See if that helps matters?

Re: limited or no connectivity on wirelesss!

Remember if you reset the router you will have to re-enter any personal settings like passwords, ports etc. If you have personal settings use the Backup facility to save your settings to the desktop so you can return them later.

If that fails try giving the wireless adapter in the laptop a fixed address. Network Connections, right click adapter, highlight Internet Protocol and press the Properties button. Click 'Use this IP address' and put in
      192.168.0.10
      255.255.255.0
      192.168.0.1

It is also possible that a nearby network is interfering with yours, try changing the channel in the router.

If all fails, get the latest drivers from the manufacturers site, uninstall the reinstall your adapter.

EDIT - Too late Glad your fixed
