      Shall I Change My Router?

I'm currently using the Sagem router and i'm not getting more than 500KBP/s on a 8MB line. I'm sure that I should be getting more than that, as I have a Netgear router should I use that and see?

Even though it's not what i'm supposed to but should I still try it?

Oh and also, how can I check how much bandwidth I have used for the month?

Firstly, you need to post your router stats because without them we cannot see what your connection is like you should to this from the current position and also the test socket (see sig for details).

Also, if you are using wireless, try a connection with an ethernet lead for a speedtest.

Finally, there is no usage monitoring tool on Sky, you need to install your own, there is a free one on this site you can use.

If you are getting downloads of 500KB/s on wireless that is not too bad. If your wired connection gives you 8-900KB/s, you may get a bit more by experimenting with changing the channels in the router. If you get much less than that, you may have to tweak your PC settings. There are many factors which govern wireless speed, you will not get the same as a wired connection.
