      If you are seeing your neighbours routers you should be able to see your own. The SSID will be shown as something like SKY81602 and will be 'protected'. To connect initially you are better going into the Wireless settings of your router and under the Security, select disable. This should allow you to connect without entering a security 'key'. You can then set up the security.
      Have a look at this tutorial for full details on setting up your wireless.

      The wireless settings should be done using a cable connection. When you have finished the setup, disconnect the cable, make sure the wireless in your laptop is switched on and you should connect.

      The easiest way is to simply connect another LAN cable (same as the yellow one) into one of the spare outputs on the Router and then to your laptop. It's a cheap and easy option - you can also get them in various lengths to suit your needs.

      It's very odd you can see a neighbours wireless network but not your own. Can you again try 192.168.0.1 and the Admin/sky Username/password. Then see if the wireless is enabled on the router.
