Service Pack 3 supercedes service Pack 2.

Steven's advice should work OK, but having 2 wireless managers installed can sometimes cause problems. You should have a look at the Control Panel>Add/Remove programs and see if the Netgear Connection Manager or Wizard is installed separate from the Driver. If it is, select it and uninstall it.

If you have no problems fine, but if you do, uninstall everything you have from Netgear from your PC. When you have done that, reinstall and this time watch for a screen which asks you to choose between Netgear Wizard and XP Wireless Zero Configuration. The Netgear option is always selected by default and is recommended. Ignore this and select the WZC option. The Netgear stuff will not then be iinstalled so will not conflict in any way with WZC.

As Paul implies, you don't have to remove Sp2, in fact you must not.

Steven from Belfast, I've done the "services.msc" and when I click on the wireless icon in internet connections then click on view wireless networks I get the windows page but get a message that windows cannot configure this wireless connection. When I look into Msconfig I cannot find netgear wizard. The only thing I've got is NETGEAR WG111T...C:\PROGRA~1\NETGE...Common Startup. Any idea?. My wireless network is connected but when I run the Netgear Smart Wizard I still cannot connect to the net. All my router settings match. Still no connection.

If you have done what Steven advised you should not be trying to use Netgear Wizard. Try right clicking the Wireless icon in the System tray and see if you get the option to 'Use Windows to Manage my Connection' if so, select that.

I cannot find netgear wizard to deselect it so i cannot use windows. At the moment I'm tring to uninstall it but all i get when i try to remove it is a empty box with a large red circle with a cross in it. No matter if I use the add+remove on my control panel it still happens so at this present time I'm doing a system restore. Then I will reinstall the software but this time I wont let Netgear Wizard run. I will post back with the results

Re: Trouble TCP/IP enabling on my Laptop. PLEASE HELP

Well finally after much messing about installing then reinstalling, it's at last working. Problem was I downloaded the latest driver on my PC then transfered it to my laptor via a usb stick. What I didnt realise was that the file was corrupt. It messed up my Mcafee and i could not unistall it, so i did a system restore, uninstalled my Mcafee, re installed Mcafee, then reinstalled the netgear software. Once it worked I went onto Netgear Website and downloaded the latest software and followed the instructions untill I got to the point where it asks you about which wizard you want and i followed your instuctions and declined. NOW I'VE A BIG SMILE. Big thanks to, Steven_Belfast, Isitme, redwarfcrew, PaulSky and anyone else .
