Are the drivers for the Wireless adapter properly installed? Check by going to the Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters section. Right click the entry for the wireless adapter and select Properties. It should say 'This device is working properly.'

      Re: Help

The Wireless Manager comes up when you first make a connection. It will scan for wireless stations and should come up with your router, which will be called Skyxxxxxx and if you followed the advice to turn off security in the router, it will be described as Unsecured. At the bottom of the pane is a button, called 'Connect'. Clicking this button connects you to the router. If the adapter is properly installed there will be an wireless icon in the System Tray, bottom right of your screen. Double clicking or right clicking and selecting Connect will bring this pane up.
