      Wireless problem

Hi guys. Need help with my sky router. Its Netgear (white). We have 4 laptops in the house. However, only the closest one to the router is able to get a good signal and good download speeds.

The others keep losing connection very often. The computers detect the wireless but are not able to connect. Hence, we have to restart the router (turn power off n on) often. The download speeds on the other three are very slow aswell.

What is the cause of this and the possible solution? I was thinking of connecting all computers with a wired connection instead of a wireless. will that help?

please reply at the earliest. thank you.

please reply at the earliest. thank you.
The best way to get a quick useful reply is to start your own thread.
What happens when you move the laptops to the same position? Can they all then connect?

Generally speaking the further you are from the PC and the more intervening walls the less reliable the connection will be using wireless. Wired connections do not have this problem and can be up to 100M from the router. If you PCs laptops are in different rooms and different levels, you should consider a Homeplug network This gives virtually the same performance as a wired connection with an outlet at any powerpoint you choose.
