Dell Network Adapter 1150 - ethernet printer connection

      Hi
      Can anyone help me please.
I have a Dell 968 printer (with disk) and an Dell internal network adapter 1150 - without disk.

I want the printer to connnect to the sky router via ethernet cable.

Do I need to install the printer software on each computer??

Can't seem to find the driver software from Dell website either?

Have got in a complete muddle... I think I connected the ethernet cable and saw the printer on my network and was able to print (once). Possibly I then installed the software and now I can't see the printer in the network.

      Hope you can follow me.

      Allison

Re: Dell Network Adapter 1150 - ethernet printer connection

If you have Win XP or Vista you may not need a specific driver for a Dell ethernet network adapter.

To check that it's working (in XP) go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager. It should be listed (if not working there will be a yellow warning).

      But I think to get further help you need to be more clear on issues like;
whether the Dell network adapter is for wired ethernet or is wireless,
which operating system you are using,
whether the printer is wireless or simply networkable.

The printer manual should have a guide to networking it.

Many thanks.... managed to sort it from this link.

      Dell - Support

The only bit I am now stuck on... it said that i needed to go through the set up on all machines to be linked to the wireless printer.

Part of the set up process was linking a usb cable to the printer..... my printer is in the main office but the other 2 computers are in a different room. so I would be unable to temporarily link a usb to the printer.

      thanks for your help.

      Allison
