    Big problems with connecting to router!

      Big problems with connecting to router!

      i have had sky boradband about 4 months and havent been able to get my PC or laptop to connect wirelessly. when i search for a network alot of the time it doesnt even show my router and when it does occationally i can connect but only for a matter of minutes then it drops out and i have big problems connecting again if it is even possible i can! i have resorted to an ethernet cable to get myself online and onto the router setup i am in despert need of some help. i have the sagem router by the way.

      do away with wireless and continue with ethernet or buy some powerline adapters...

      i could do with the wireless working as its a pain using the wires everwhere. any way of sorting it out?

      open your browser, point it to 192.168.0.1, user name is admin, password is sky. Once logged in click on the link called "setup" at the top left of the screen.
      In this screen you will see the channel etc in use, post back with what channel is set up. It could just need a channel change for it to work consistantly for you

      Download Netstumbler from the link below. This will help greatly in getting your connection right. Try changing to a channel as far numerically as possible from any neighbouring channels.

      My channel number is set to 11 at the moment will i need to change that?

      have changed it to number 1 and now the pc and latop can see the network and connect my pc can get access to the net where as the laptop just allows me to connect to the router yet does not give me an internet connection!!! grrrr were close now lol any ideas on the lack of internet on my laptop
