TV Interference

I've just bought a wireless TV sender to watch sky around the house and it works great when the router is off but when it's on it causes interference that makes the TV unwatchable. The router is connected to my computer by the ethernet cable andI don't use wireless internet at all. Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the wireless internet signal because I dont need it and it isn't practical for me to turn the router off to watch TV.
