    connection keeps failing

      Angry connection keeps failing

      does anybody know why my connection keeps failing when i am listening to live football from a club site, its on windows media player and every few minutes i loose it and then have to reconect my wireless connection. I have a sky netgear wireless router which is about to go out the window !!!
      any other time its ok but fails only on this commentery site and wmp.

      Are you connecting via wireless, if so that may be the cause, wireless is not a great way to keep good connectivity.

      Try wiring it in to see if this helps, you could also change the channel, start at 13 as it is the most likley not to be used.

      Thank you Smithy99, i am unable to change the channel on my box, not sure how yo go about it, i was going to call in a sky engineer to check it out but thought I would see if I could get help here, I have tried using my pc as the host or server pc and then used my partners pc which is next to mine but no difference.

      to change the channel go to the following web address:

      192.168.0.1

      login: admin
      pass: sky


      click on Wireless Settings,
      change the mode to g only
      change the channel
      Apply the changes.

      reddwarfcrew thank you, I have changed the channel and will try to listen to a game tomorrow, and see if all is ok.

      Hi reddwarfcrew and others who helped, I have just listened to a game and it has not cut out on me once so thank you your advise above seems to have done the trick.
