Wireless is a bit slower than ethernet, but it should not take minutes to load a page. Post your router stats and do a speedtest at Sky User - Unofficial Help and Support for Sky Broadband and everything Sky! - Broadband Packages first with wireless and then by ethernet cable, Post your results here.

      Many thanks.

I think I have done as you say. Not sure what figures I need to post so I will start with Speed Test

      Ethernet

Your download speed is 1728Kbps. Your upload speed is 290Kbps.

      wifi

Your download speed is 1480Kbps. Your upload speed is 287Kbps.

I cut and paste the router stats; if this is what is needed to help me is it ok to paste here? Is there anything in the stats that should not be seen by the world and his wife - just checking, I don't know.

      Any help is always appreciated.

The sync and the results are what I would expect to see, you lose about 10 -15% in overheads.

As for slow pages, is it all day, or mainly in the evening?

Actually, you have a similar set of stats to mine, and I can get nearly 7mb. Whereas yours is only 2mb. Could be the NM at fault.

Have you tried the test socket behind the master socket?

Sky User - The unofficial support forum for everything Sky! How to test your Master Socket

If possible try that and repeat the posting of the stats from there.

Unless someone else can suggest something.

      Thank you

All day. It can take 2 mins for a page to download as soon as I go back to the Ethernet connection it is fine.

      Any help is always appreciated.

Re: Should it be this slow?

If it is only whilst using wireless, then there is nothing wrong with your connection or the supply of.

I would have a read of this and see if it helps?

      Slow Wireless Speeds? Read this!

      It may or not help.
