      Replacing standard SKY router

I've had sky broadband for about a year and have had all the usual lack of reliability problems with the service (assume with the netgear router). I have a spare belkin braodband router that I could switch-in but was hoping someone could give me the idiots guide on how to do it.

      Re: Replacing standard SKY router

There are loads of threads on these forums M8 that will aid you in finding your username and password from the original Sky router.

Once the username etc is found, all you need to do is plug the new router in, change the username and password from old to the new Sky details and away you go.

      to the OP...

why do you want to replace the Sky router? chances are the issues are not the router but the line...post your stats and how you're setup (as it is your first post) and I'm sure there'll be something else that can be done...

      Re: Replacing standard SKY router

I've got a similar problem. Just bought sky broadband and replaced my old router with the Sky version. It crashes a lot and has nowhere near the range of the original - from the forces of darkness (BT)

I see lots on the market with huge range claims. Does anyone know if I can just switch the Sky for a new router, and if anyone has done it, what did they buy and how easy/difficult was it ?
