Re: How Do I Setup A Wireless PCI Card?

The mods will probably move this as it should not be in the Tutorial section.

Is your card capable of 54mbps, most modern ones are. If it is, you probably need to reinstall the drivers, making sure from the manufacturers site that you have the latest ones. Drivers on CDs are often out of date before the item is sold. It is also possible you are not entering the Security Key correctly, check this by turning off the security in the router.

Re: Installing a PCI-Network Card!

I would hazzard a guess at lower case key or channel issues. If its connecting and working for a while and then dropping I would be suspicious of what channel is in use. If its saying its connecting and then not doing anything, then disconnecting and then goes round in circles trying to get an IP from the router I would look at the key.

Re: How Do I Setup A Wireless PCI Card?

^^^^^^^^^^^
Enter the router set up by typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your browser or Click here Put in admin as the username and sky as the password. Click 'Wireless settings' on the left and when it opens, scroll down to Security Options and tick 'Disable'. Remember to turn it back on asap as running without security is not advised.

Re: How Do I Setup A Wireless PCI Card?

I don't quite understand. You asked how to turn off the security and the instructions above tell you how to do that, why should it not 'work'?
