      changing channel

      hi
I have noticed that since my neighbour has had wireless put in that he is on the same channel as me and as a result of this I find that my wireless cuts out or drops dramatically. It was quite stable before he had his. I changed my channel from 11 to 13 on the router but changed nothing in my PC's settings. It seems to be working fine but when looking on the connection status on windows connection thing, it still says I'm connected to channel 11? The actual wireless cards manager says that I'm on channel 13. I opted for my wireless cards connection manager to control the connections but still the windows one comes up every time I connect.Any help will be much appreciated.

      thanks

      Re: changing channel

There's a tick box (somewhere) in Windows Networking which asks whether you want Windows to manage this connection. Usually, though, that disables some of the functions in the adapters own utility, so I'm not sure it's the cause.

Anyway I would have a look at Windows Networking and try to delete the offending connection.

It should actually be a '1' which is the address of your router, unless you have changed it
