video sender cuts off web access

hi, just installed a video/audio sender...but to get a good pic&sound on tv upstairs with no interference i have to turn off router( i then cannot use laptop.... obviously ...anyone have any advice as to how to get round this problem ?...i have found out that both items ..sender & router use same frequencies..so, is there anyway i can change router frequency for instance..would that help ? or any other ideas....i have moved position of laptop aroud the house thats not worked...i could try to move router to other room..could that work ? as i would like to know first as it would entail drilling & extending router cable...any ideas would be greatly appreciated...many thanks in advance

Re: video sender cuts off web access

I would move the sender as far as possible from the router and if possible do not share the same mains socket in case anything is being mains borne.

The sender may allow change to another channel and manual may specify which frequencies are used. Hopefully you can compare these with the channels/frequencies used by the router -- see manual for the router (Sagem's home site or look at any other 802.11 spec router manual perhaps on the Netgear site).

Re: video sender cuts off web access

Try changing the Router WiFi channel. Whatever it set at try going as far away from that as you can in the range 1-12. To change the routers WiFi enter 192.168.0.1 in your browsers address bar, then enter

admin

followed by

sky

and that should get you into the routers menu. Choose WiFi, change the Channel number and remember to SAVE the new settings.

Re: video sender cuts off web access

No you will not lose the conection try channels 1/6/11
I am sure you will find at least one that works

once you change the channel click apply and turn the
router off at the power for a few seconds then turn back
on this will allow the pc to reconect on the new channel.
