      New Adapter, Need Help..Please..

Hello, I recently purchased an Edimax EW-7728in wireless adapter, and I tried to connect to my router, but it isn't letting me.

It begins to connect, and then it drops the network in the middle, so it never actually connects...

I've tried setting my own IP Settings, Different Drivers...I've also tried a different Wireless Card(Linksys WMP54G).

In the end, I can connect to my friends Wireless router perfectly fine, So I'm unsure of whats wrong...My laptop connects without a problem.

There's a screenshot of what happens..

      Thanks!

      P.s. I have a DG934G

Yeah I just did, and it connected for maybe 1 hour...now it's back to refusing to connect. I believe I may have gotten a faulty router...I'm not sure though.

Which Sky router are you using and have you done anything to the settings on it? I would suggest changing channel on the router if you are seeing multiple wireless networks close by.

my dg934g was set to channel 2 daughter got weak signal upstairs so i changed it to channel 11 this solved the problem
some say the ariel is in the base of the router so standing it on its stand putting it up sideways can improve signal strength,
failing on that it may be faulty router as you think

Usually best to stand router with vents and aerial uppermost.

Positioning of the router and angle of the aerial (both on router and on adapters) can be critical in marginal reception situations.

A good dodge, if feasible, is to put router and computer near windows on the same side of the building -- wireless travels better thru air than through brick/plasterboard etc.
