Wireless a lot slower than ethernet???

      Hi All,
New user here, joined Sky broadband this week and have just got up and running.
I am using the Sagem wireless router on one laptop running Vista. The problem I have is that when connected via Ethernet cable Im getting 3.2mbps but when im connecting via wireless im only getting 0.75mbps?

Have I set up the router incorrectly?

      Any help/tips would be appreciated.

      Many Thanks, Graham.

No, thats one of the problems with wireless - so many things can effect it.
Try diferent wireless channels to see if things improve.
You can also experiment with router position.

Wireless will always be slower than trusty old wired no matter how good your PC may say the signal is the throughput is alot lower

Try the Channel change first. Try moving the router (even a small change can make a difference). Make sure you don't have another Wireless source near the router (DECT phone, Bluetooth device). My DECT phone is about 2 feet away and isn't a problem but close up it can be. Large metal objects can be a problem as can reinforced concrete.

It's a bit like a landline call and a mobile phone call. They can be the same quality if everything is perfect for the mobile.

I get almost identical speeds from my LAN and WiFi connections. So it can be done.
