      Thumbs down Wireless connection speed.

My wireless has been playing up recently. I use a BT Voyager PCI card, i see the signal strength varying a lot. Drops to very low, then goes back up sometimes stays at very low for a wile, sometimes its fine.

Now i've tried every channel and they're all the same.

When it goes to very low, if i go and change the channel it jumps straight back up to high for a wile then will go weird again, and another change of channel brings it back up

      Any ideas?

Do you have a cordless phone? If so switch it off for a while and see if the problem goes. If it does, find another place to put it.

      Re: Wireless connection speed.

There are a lot of things that can kill a wireless signal.

      Microwave oven (yours or neighbour)
      Cordless phone
BlueTooth (usually one kills weak signals as its very low power compared to the wireless signal)
      Other access points
      Wireless TV senders

All the above operate on the 2.4GHz frequency and can disrupt the wireless signal. See if there is an update driver for your wireless card as sometimes these can fix bugs if its down to the card in your PC.
