      Wireless problems, noob needs help.

      Trying to setup the V1 netgear router with wireless but it will not connect using an wifi connections, well it does connect but it unsuccessful and it's limited, i've setup the router as an access point and I can access the config settings with cable but not using wireless.

      Little help please?

      Ok, I tried a another system and this one connects fine to the router using wireless nic so I guess something is blocking it on the first machine I tested that i'm not aware of.

      But another problem, the modem just keeps reading as connecting, any idea for these problems?

      have you got access control or mac filtering turned on ?
      what adaptor are you using in the one you are failing with?
      i presume all wpa-psk keys have been supplied when connecting?

      if you could give me a little more info and i'll try to help
      I set up wi-fi on my uncles V1 netgear router from sky no probs

      Mac filtering is turned off, the network adaptor thats not working is built into the motherboard, it's a realtek RTL8187 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0.


      Yes, keys are entered, both machines are using vista x64

      I also got this error message while trying to connect with the first system,

      "Windows has detected an I address confilct"
