Sky Netgear router and Comtrend Powerline

      Hi

Are Skybroadband, Netgear Router and Comtrend Powerline compatible.

Does anyone know why the Comtrends are so much cheaper... do they perhaps come free with BT vision, and then are resold on ebay as customers don't want them ... or are the Netgear much better.

I assume I can buy additional adapters i.e. 1 plugged to the mains and ethernet cable to the router and as many as I like (within reason) plugged in to the mains around the house.

Are the adapters connected to the previously wireless computers by ethernet cable, or do the adapters act as wifi zones.

Thanks for any help you can give....i'm getting confused.

      Allison

I've never heard of Comtrend, but I'm happily using Devolo powerline networking in conjunction with Sky Broadband and the V1 Netgear router.

As long as Comtrend is Homeplug compatible, I wouldn't forsee any problems in principle.

Read somewhere about Netgear one's being recalled due to overheating!
