Re: 'Acquiring Network Address' but can't connect!!

This can happen when the wrong network wireless key is entered its possible your using the wrong key or you have been given the wrong key.
The key is case sensitive ...

in a nutshell, go to http://192.168.0.1

enter the username as 'admin' and the password as 'sky' (without quotations)

go to UPnP down the left hand menu bar, untick the box and click apply. the page will refresh then logout the router (last option on the left)

then reboot the PC and give it a go...

Re: 'Acquiring Network Address' but can't connect!!

hi..very new on sky..but i am having exactly the same problem with trying to set up laptop wirelessly ( worked perfect on orange only 4 days ago )...it has been stated that the key is case sensitive...but the card i have it written on looks like it is in caps...would that be correct ? also in contains 00..not sure if thats numbers or capital letters ..any idea? finally if i follow the above posters suggestion about "go to UPnP down the left hand menu bar, untick the box and click apply. the page will refresh then logout the router (last option on the left) " by doing that & trying it.. it will not affect desktop connections to router in any way will it ? as i would hate to do something & have no net connection...any help would be really appreciated...cheers

worcesterman47: Don't worry about turning off the UPnP that's only for the V1 router and you have a Sagem. If you are unsure of the Network key printed on the card (also on the bottom of the router) then go into the wireless settings of the router and see what is there and possibly change it to something you find easier to remember.

There are no numbers in Sky network keys and all letters are in capitals.

Re: 'Acquiring Network Address' but can't connect!!

If you want to check/change your wireless settings you can do it with either the desktop or the laptop but obviously you cant do it wirelessly untill the wireless is set up. (chicken and egg problem!). Your previous router probably didn't have wireless security turned on and the default on wireless is to connect automatically to the first unsecured channel it finds.
