Re: 'Acquiring Network Address' but can't connect!!

      Hiya.
I am very new on sky broadband. I am struggling to connect wirelessly to the internet. I can connect with the ethernet cable, and the x-box connects to live when we enter in the WEP key.
When I play around with the WEP key and everything else, it says connected.
So I try an internet explorer, but its not connected. It will then say that it is Acquiring Network Address, and also sometimes will say Limited or no connectivity.
We have spent hours on the phone to sky technical support, with no joy.
Can anyone help me. I am at my wits end.

You could try changing the channel on the wireless.

Not got the Sagem plugged in at the moment, but it would be fairly similar.

      click on this http://192.168.0.1

Log in with username: admin password: sky (unless you have changed these)

Look for Setup and then click on it, once logged in

Look for mode, and change to g & b or similar, it maybe on Auto, if so change to g & b

You should then be able to change the channel in the drop down box, try 13 and work backwards until you can log on wirelessly - Remember to click apply at the bottom of the page after each change.

      It may or not work.

Go into the wireless settings and turn off the security. If you can then connect then your are using the wrong security key.

It may also be your adapter does not like WPA. Try using WEP - go into the wireless settings select - WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) Put a phrase or word into the passphrase box that appears then copy and paste the keys given on to notepad. Remember to click Apply. Unplug the ethernet and open your wireless settings, select WEP and copy one of the keys into the box. See if you can connect.

While you are in the wireles settings change the SSID from the default to a personal name, this ensures you are trying to connect to your own router and not your next door neighbours. Remember to click apply.

      Post back with your result.

      ^^^^
When you say 'wireless box' do you mean you have a new router? If so, you will have to change the security key, have you done that? If that does not work follow the advice given in this thread.
